CLASS: Foundations of Mindfulness
- 9:00 PM (Every Tuesday)
at Mountain Rain Zen Community , (2016 Wall Street, Vancouver, BC, V5L 1B1) (Map It)
This class series requires online registration before first session. No drop ins.
In one of the foundational texts of Buddhism, the Satipatthana Sutta, we are presented with different ways of bringing mindful attention to our present-moment experience. By looking at experience through these different frames of reference, we can learn to relate to it more wisely and with less suffering, ultimately leading to liberation. In this 5 week series beginning September 5th we will focus on the first 3 frames of reference; body, feeling tone, emotions and thoughts.
This class will follow the same format as other Essential Dharma classes, with a mix of guided meditation, discussion, and interactive exercises; the intention is to engage with the teachings both intellectually and experientially, to begin to embed them more deeply into our lives. People at all levels of meditation experience are welcome. It is our intention that these classes be welcoming and accessible to people of all backgrounds, abilities, races, and genders.
Both you and the group will benefit if you attend all sessions.
The one fee is for all five sessions and covers the location rental. There is an opportunity to offer dana (donation) for the teachings.
|For all 5 Sessions:||$25.00|
