Beginning Vipassana Meditation, Sept. 22 to Oct. 27

6 Sessions, September 22 to October 27, 2010

Mindfulness Meditation develops an intimate awareness of our body and our senses, of our mind and heart. This practice emphasizes mindful attention, developing an immediate awareness of our experience in all spheres of activity. We begin to look at our lives with interest and kindness and discover how to be awake and free. Meditation helps us to discover a natural, open-hearted and nonjudgmental awareness of our bodies and feelings. Participants are asked to commit to all 6 classes.

Introduction To Mindfulness & Meditation - 6 Sessions, September 14 to October 19, 2010. Mindfulness meditation is a profound practice that has been used for over 2500 years by countless seekers, regardless of religion, to quiet the mind, open the heart, and to clearly see our "true nature". It teaches people how to live more fully in the present moment, how to open more gracefully to the ups and downs of life, and how to meet ourselves and others with more acceptance and love.

Vipassana Meditation Sitting Group, Sept. 12 to Nov. 28

Meditation helps us to discover a natural, open-hearted and nonjudgmental awareness of our bodies and feelings. This brings greater awareness and contentment into our lives. Supporting and practicing with others helps us integrate meditation with how we are in the world and then express our understanding through wise action and speech. Being in contact with wise friends strengthens our motivation and confidence. This group is for those who have completed the Beginners' Meditation Class, have a regular practice, or have attended a meditation retreat.
